Abstract

This article is devoted to the linguocultural analysis of toponymic phraseological units based on materials from collections of Uzbek folk proverbs and explanatory dictionaries of the Uzbek language. The study analyzes proverbs, sayings and fixed expressions with geographical names – rivers, mountains, deserts, cities – found in oral folk art. The article reveals the role of toponyms in Uzbek phraseology, their reflection in explanatory dictionaries, as well as how proverbs through geographical names express folk worldview, values and life experience. The analysis shows that toponymic phraseologisms are an important source for studying the history, lifestyle and national mentality of the Uzbek people.
