The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Grammar Learning and Usage

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has significantly transformed modern education, particularly in the field of language learning. One of the most affected areas is grammar acquisition and usage in English as a Second Language (ESL) and Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. This paper explores the impact of AI-powered tools such as Grammarly, ChatGPT, and other intelligent writing assistants on grammar learning processes. The study analyzes both positive and negative effects, including improved accuracy, personalized learning, and increased learner confidence, as well as dependency, reduced critical thinking, and passive learning behavior. The paper also discusses how AI reshapes traditional grammar instruction and predicts future trends in AI-assisted language education. The findings suggest that while AI enhances grammar learning efficiency, it should be used as a complementary tool rather than a replacement for human cognitive engagement.
