Abstract

This article analyzes the issues of the development of mass sports in the Fergana region under the conditions of New Uzbekistan during 1991–2021. The study examines the state policy implemented in the field of physical culture and sports, the modernization of sports infrastructure, the activities of educational institutions, and the role of mass sports in strengthening public health and youth education. Particular attention is paid to the reforms carried out after 2017, which marked a new stage in the development of sports policy in Uzbekistan. The article also highlights the contribution of local government bodies, educational institutions, sports schools, and public organizations to the expansion of mass sports among the population of Fergana region. Based on historical-comparative, statistical, and analytical approaches, the research identifies the socio-economic significance of sports and evaluates the effectiveness of state programs aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles.
